Golf Tips with rbz irons

Let's look at half a dozen simple things that can dramatically improve your game. The first thing to realize is mental. You need to be realistic in your goals in terms of how well you can play and what scores you are really capable of achieving. Setting unrealistic expectations only heightens your frustration and lack of enjoyment for the game. So be good to yourself, and aim for what is possible for you.

Other than the basic rule of keeping your head down as you hit the ball with taylormade rocketballz irons, the next most critical thing is to get down on your shot. Most hackers, and not just new ones, can't seem to get their head around this simple rule. If you want to get the ball up into the air you have to hit down on it. This is especially true with a fairway wood where the famous Ben Hogan wrote many years ago that you need to pretend you are trying to pound the ball into the ground. This is simple, but so hard to logically get into your brain and your natural playing routines. It seems way more logical to "pick" the ball off the grass with your clubhead, not hit it into the grass! So hit down on the ball.

Perhaps the most overlooked way to improve your score is to focus on the short game. Most of us amateurs go to the range and spend almost all of our time with a driver or other distant club. Most of your shots in golf are from 50 to 100 yards in. So the real practice you need is with your high irons from wedge down to 7 or 8 irons, the ones you would normally use when you are close to the green but not on. How often we are near the green in 2 or 3 shots only to take 3, 4 or 5 more to get the ball down the hole. So practice those short ones and you will be amazed what affect it has on your scores and thus your overall satisfaction with this tough game we play.

The next simple thing to work on is compensating for your chronic problems. As an example, is you continually slice your drives or fairway woods, instead of working fruitlessly to correct the problem, simply compensate by adjusting your aim accordingly ie to compensate for your erroneous way of hitting the ball. So if you slice right, line up to shoot more to the left to allow the slice to land where you want it. You can do this compensation routine with various shots, again to compensate for your errors.

Another issue to deal with is your routine when you step up to hit the ball with taylormade rbz irons. You need to develop a set routine by first visualizing where you want the ball to land, how far you want to hit it, and then get up there with a fluid confident stance and swing, all the time putting only positive thoughts into your head, not the fear that is usually there when you address the ball.

A final matter to deal with to improve your game is what some call "walking through the shot". This was first developed by the golf legend Ben Hogan. Basically, when most of us hit the ball we tend to end up with our weight on our right side, if we are right handed. This is dead wrong and will cause the most missed shots in golf. You want to follow through on your swing so that the shaft of the club stays ahead of the ball and your weight swings from your right to end up on your left side when you are finished. In this way your axis stays ahead of the ball and you will hit it on the downward motion of the clubhead.
